Privacy Policy
Last updated: March 24, 2026
Screenvolt ("we", "our", "the app") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
The short version: all your data stays on your device. We don't collect, transmit, or sell any personal information.
1. Data We Collect
Screenvolt collects the following data, which is stored exclusively on your device:
- App usage data: Time spent on apps you choose to track. This is collected via the platform's usage statistics API (UsageStatsManager on Android, DeviceActivity on iOS).
- Schedule configuration: Your authorized time windows and daily battery settings.
- Tracked app list: The apps you select to manage.
- Usage statistics: Aggregated daily, weekly, and monthly usage summaries.
2. Data We Do NOT Collect
- We do not collect your name, email, phone number, or any personal identifiers.
- We do not transmit any data to external servers.
- We do not use analytics, tracking, or advertising SDKs.
- We do not create user accounts or require sign-in.
- We do not access the content of your apps (messages, photos, browsing history, etc.).
3. How We Use Your Data
All data is used solely to provide the app's core functionality:
- Calculating your daily screen time battery level
- Determining whether usage falls within authorized or penalty hours
- Blocking tracked apps when your battery is depleted
- Displaying usage statistics and trends
- Sending local notifications about battery levels
4. Data Storage
All data is stored in a local SQLite database on your device. Data is never backed up to our servers because we don't have servers that handle user data. If you uninstall the app, all data is permanently deleted.
5. Third-Party Services
Screenvolt uses RevenueCat for managing in-app purchases and subscriptions. RevenueCat may process anonymous transaction data as required by Apple App Store and Google Play Store policies. RevenueCat's privacy policy is available at revenuecat.com/privacy.
No other third-party services receive any data from the app.
6. Permissions
Screenvolt requests the following device permissions:
- Usage Access (Android) / Screen Time (iOS): Required to monitor time spent in tracked apps. We only read aggregate time data — never app content.
- Overlay Permission (Android): Required to display the block screen when your battery is depleted.
- Notifications: Optional. Used for battery level alerts and daily summaries. All notifications are generated locally on your device.
- Background Execution: Required to track usage and enforce blocks while the app is not in the foreground.
7. Children's Privacy
Screenvolt is designed for adults aged 26 and older. We do not knowingly target or collect data from children under 13. The app is a self-directed screen time management tool, not a parental control application.
8. Your Rights
Since all data is stored locally on your device, you have full control:
- Access: View all your data within the app at any time.
- Delete: Uninstalling the app permanently deletes all data.
- Portability: Your data exists only on your device and is under your control.
9. Changes to This Policy
If we make material changes to this privacy policy, we will notify users through an in-app notice. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
